If you’re interested in developing new, better ways of thinking by following Dr Alex, here is a segment for you! The answer was about a whole lot more than the diet….
The Question for DrAlex: I started a pretty strict diet at New Year. I’m not sure it was my best idea because I’ve got really fierce deadlines at work and at the moment we’re all concerned for our jobs. But with the stress at work my self-confidence is a bit shot and I think I will put myself forward more if I feel better about how I look.
Anyway the thing is that since I started my diet I’ve been waking up at 400am and not managing to get back to sleep. What can I do? It’s not quite what I planned – I’m starting the day out tearful because I haven’t had a lot of sleep, it all feels like too much for me!
The reason we chose this interesting question is because you don’t have to be struggling on a diet – or anything like it – to develop your thinking by working through our answer!
There’s a lot to learn here about everything…from insomnia, diet and how to retain muscle mass and not develop belly fat… to how to better manage your aspirations and put them into action.

Here’s what we focused on:
The Key Issues Behind This Question:
Timing, Personal Strategy, Health and Diets, Looking Good (from a diet), Insomnia, Performance At Work and How To Shine, Best Fit Solutions, and Brain Battering Presuppositions (which really don’t actually make sense!).
The Take Home:
Just because something is reasonable doesn’t make it right!
Learn to think about what you’re doing and what you’re saying, and to hear how you and other people are speaking. Start to notice why some really big efforts just can’t create totally positive outcomes…. Simply because of the way the thought process is (mis)constructed!
